Tessie Edna Sydow

Funeral for Tessie Edna Sydow, 92, of Boyd was 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with the Rev. Doyle Slimp officiating. Burial is at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1.

Sydow died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, in Decatur.

Born Dec. 5, 1919, in Decatur to John and Ola (Rasbury) North, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd. She married Albert Sydow July 10, 1937, in Decatur, and they were married 48 years at his death Aug. 18, 1985.

She was also preceded in death by son Buddy Sydow on March 17, 1993; a brother; and a sister.

Sydow is survived by daughters Virginia Coleman and husband, Don, of Huntsville and Christine Brown and husband, Doug, of Azle; son J.C. Sydow and wife, Paula, of Boyd; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Terry Smith, Scott Brown, Stan Sydow, Cory Feldhaus, Christopher Feldhaus, Ben Cozby, Bryan Coleman and Jason Nelson.

Honorary pallbearer is Alex Brown.
