Ted Z. Dillehay

Funeral for Ted Z. Dillehay, 86, of North Richland Hills is 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Richland Hills United Methodist Church in North Richland Hills. Graveside service with military honors is 4 p.m. Saturday at Paradise Cemetery.

Dillehay died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, in North Richland Hills.

Born June 18, 1926, in Decatur to Richard Hubbard Dillehay and Hattie Clude Powell, he accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at a tent revival when he was 7 years old. He lived in Decatur until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving in the South Pacific on the U.S.S. Craven for almost three years.

Dillehay returned home following his service in World War II and married Evia Lou Albritton in 1948. They moved to Richland Hills in 1965 and joined Richland Hills United Methodist Church. He worked at Lone Star Gas Co. for 38 years until his retirement in 1986.

He spent time at his farm in Wise County. He fished and spent time in his recreational vehicle with friends John and Judy Buchanan. Dillehay attended annual Naval Ship Reunions.

Dillehay is survived by his wife of 64 years; daughter Debbie Daniel and husband, Mark, of Fort Worth; and granddaughters Kristin and Caroline Daniel of Fort Worth.

Memorials may be made to The Memorial Fund at Richland Hills United Methodist Church, 7301 Glenview Drive, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180.
