Funeral for Shirley Ann Hayes, 75, of Decatur is 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with the Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation is 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Hayes died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, in Decatur.
Born Oct. 1, 1936, in Decatur to John Farley and Effie Dulsa (Brown) Young, she married John Cantrell Hayes Jan. 5, 1956, in Ardmore, Okla. They were married 41 years at his death Aug. 27, 1997.
Hayes retired from TU Electric after 25 years of service, and she was a member of First Baptist. She traveled and shopped for antiques.
She was also preceded in death by brothers Bill Young and Joe Young and sister Margaret Provence.
Hayes is survived by daughters Cindy Cox and husband, Norbert, and Tamra Waterman and husband, Kirk, all of Decatur; son J.S. “Biff” and wife, LaVon, of Decatur; sister Emma Lee Hill of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jake Hayes, Hayes Waterman, Andrew Sandford, Rob Fothergill, Kyle Green and Chase Blount.
