Samuel Abraham Hines

Samuel Abraham Hines, 81, a retired chief master sergeant, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in Georgetown.

Graveside service was Dec. 21 at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora with the Rev. Gary Sessions officiating. Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd did the arrangements.

Samuel was born April 11, 1931, to John and Eula (Bohen) Hines in Roswell, N.M. He married Linda Kay Poplin March 12, 2005, in Luling. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pearl Francis Hines in 2003; and his brother, Harvey Hines.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Kay Hines of Luling; daughters Eva Roop and husband, Hugh, of Johnson City and Cindy Turala of Fort Worth; son Robert Hines and wife, Marti, of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren Janice Ann Brooker and husband, Denis, of Georgetown, John Robbie Tuttle III of Kansas City, Kan., Samuel Abraham Tuttle of Bastrop and James Edward Tuttle of Austin; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister; two brothers; other family members and friends.
