Ruth Tackel

Funeral for Ruth Tackel, 49, of Paradise is 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial is at Paradise Cemetery.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Tackel died Monday, April 30, 2012, in Decatur.

Born May 10, 1962, in Bunker Hill, Ind., to James and Della (Kidd) Nall, she was a housewife and retired waitress. She married Ronnie Tackel May 11, 1996, in Paradise.

Tackel was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Danny Nall.

She is survived by her husband; stepdaughter De Ann Taylor and husband, Danny of Decatur; stepgrandchildren Courtney and Clayton; sister Delilah Zehnder of Paradise; mother-in-law Faye Tackel; and extended family members.

Pallbearers are Wayne Arther, Stan Caruthers, Leslie Oates, J.P. Oates, Paul Kelly, Derek Read, Karl Black and Bennie Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Angela Arther, Callahan Storey, Ali Caruthers, Abbi Read, Molli Read, Gracie Oates, Clayton Taylor, Courtney Taylor and Emma Zehnder.
