Royce Dan Green | 1945-2012

Funeral for Royce Dan Green, 66, of Bridgeport is 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Decatur with Louis Horton officiating. Burial is at Poolville Cemetery.

Green died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in Decatur.

Born Sept. 20, 1945, in Fort Worth to Dovie and T.W. Lunsford, he served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and worked in the oil field. He was a Texas peace officer, working as a police officer in Runaway Bay for six years, leaving as a sergeant, and in reserve for the Chico Police Department.

Green continued a family craft of stone masonry, laying brick, stone and tile.

He is survived by wife Mickie Green; his father; brother David Green and wife, Judy; daughter Christy and husband, Mike; sons Royce L. Green and wife, Angela, Larry Green, Michael Terry and wife, Jessie, James Green and wife, Grace, and Robert Green; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a niece, a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers are fellow peace officers.
