Funeral for Ronnie Ogle, 70, of Bowie was Aug. 23 at the First Baptist Church in Bowie with Joe Caballero and Mike Henson officiating. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Ogle died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in Bowie.
Born July 24, 1942, in Jacksboro to James and Millie (Deweber) Ogle, he graduated from Bellevue High School in 1960 and Texas Tech University in 1964 with a bachelor of science in animal science.
Ogle married Gloria Sparks June 13, 1965, in Floydada, and they moved in 1966 to Levelland, where Ronnie worked as a soil conservationist. They moved in 1970 to Bowie, where he worked for Occidental Petroleum Co.
Ogle became partners with his brother, Larry, in 1974 to own and operate Bowie Livestock Commission until 1989. He had been a Superior Livestock Auction representative and Wise Electric Co-op director since 1997. In 2008, Ogle built Bucks and Ducks Hunting Lodge in Bellevue.
He is survived by his wife; children Kevin Ogle and wife, Shonda, of Bowie and Deborah Mayfield of Haskell; grandchildren Madison Mayfield of Haskell and Garrison Burkett, Kaden Ogle, Keller Ogle and Grifyn Ogle, all of Bowie; sister Donna Roth and husband, Linford, of Bowie; brother Larry Ogle and wife, Loneta, of Bowie; nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rural Texas or a charity of choice.
