Funeral for Robert Earl Jones, 77, of Bowie was May 14 at Montague Cowboy Church with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.

Jones died Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Corinth.

Born Aug. 5, 1934, in Fort Worth to Perry and Ida Louise (Green) Jones, he graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1951 and Texas Christian University in 1956. He married Emogene Anderson Oct. 5, 1956, in Fort Worth.

Jones worked for Humble Oil Co. as a sales manager for 14 years, before moving to Bowie in 1970. He worked as vice president of sales for Bowie Industries Inc. until his retirement in 2012.

He was an avid calf roper, played golf and attended his grandchildren’s activities.

Jones was preceded in death by sister-in-law Boots Fitzgerald and brother-in-law Dan Sheppard.

He is survived by his wife; daughters Jamie Fenoglio and husband, Leon, of Bowie and Susie Cantrell and Michael Kaufman of Henrietta; grandchildren Robert “Randy” Anderson McDonald and wife, Daisy, of Midlothian, Amber Wilson and husband, Brent of Boyd, Emily Alaniz and husband, Sam, of Rhome, Betsy Cantrell of Wichita Falls, Perry Austin Fenoglio of Bowie and Ethan Ross Cantrell of Henrietta.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren Darci, Bobby and Ryan McDonald and Lane, Cole, Andi and Rudy Wilson; sister Elizabeth Sheppard of Burleson; and brother-in-law Ben Fitzgerald of Bakersfield, Calif.
