Raymond John Yoder

Memorial service for Raymond John Yoder, 83, of North Richland Hills, formerly of Boyd, was July 6 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home In Boyd.

Yoder died Monday, July 2, 2012, in Fort Worth.

Born Jan. 26, 1929, near Kalona, Iowa, to Eli S. Yoder and Esther Helena Brenneman, he was the youngest of 10 Amish Mennonite children. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He met and married Jo Ann Rickman, who preceded him in death Aug. 23, 1996. Yoder married Donis Hefner in 1997.

He worked at Texas Instruments as a sheet metal worker and supervisor for 27 years until his retirement in 1987. After retirement, Yoder worked on his farm in Boyd and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He and Donis retired from the Boyd farm and lived in North Richland Hills.

Yoder was also preceded in death by brothers Ivan, Lyle, Marvin, Wilbur, Duane and Calvin; and sisters Eva and Verna.

He is survived by son Phillip Wayne Yoder and wife, Paula, of Denton; daughter Laurie Ann Yoder of Arlington; stepson Ken Hefner and wife, Tina, of North Richland Hills; grandchildren Alisha and Cassie; great-grandchild Kaden; and sister Luella Yoder of Kalona.
