Paul Raymond Whitford

Paul Raymond Whitford, 71, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, in Arlington due to complications from knee surgery.

Memorial service was Dec. 17 at Northwest Christian Church in Arlington.

Paul was born March 15, 1941, to Raymond and Annie (Marchbanks) Whitford near Spur. He was a 1959 graduate of Azle High School and attended Cisco Junior College before graduating from North Texas State University.

He earned his CPA and practiced for several years in Texas before moving to California. Paul continued his accounting practice there and graduated from San Fernando Law School in 1978. For many years, he practiced law in California before returning to Arlington to be near his family and friends.

Paul was always positive and generous. Above all, Paul was a loved family member and a loyal friend. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Billy Cathcart, and at family gatherings and monthly get-togethers with high school friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gene and Clint Thomason.

Survivors include sisters Mcajo Pool and Phyllis Curtis and husband, Ernie; brother William L. Thomason and wife, Syble; nieces Teresa Pool and Sherri Culbreath; nephews Ray Pool III and wife, Jayne, Ron Thomason and wife, Corinne, and Eric Thomason and wife, Robin; several grand, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; many close and personal friends and his dog, Cricket.
