Opal Louise Choate

Graveside service for Opal Louise Choate, 95, of Krum was Jan. 4 at Jackson Cemetery in Krum.

Choate died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, in Denton.

Born Oct. 9, 1916, in Decatur to Prince Albert and Elma (Ray) Claborn, she married E.D. “Red” Choate in 1937 in Paris. She was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church in Krum.

Choate was preceded in death by her husband; sister Maxine Pinkard; and brother Kenneth Claborn.

She is survived by daughters Margie McCormick, Jeanette Scott and husband, Jerry, and Ann Porter and husband, Scott; grandchildren Stacy Hacker and husband, James, Lisa Nack and husband, Stephen, Tammy McCormick, April Moren and husband, Dustin, David Scott and wife, Brandy, and Pete Porter and wife, Melissa; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Marie Dodge; and sister-in-law Merle Claborn.

Pallbearers were Pete Porter, Chad Nack, Stephen Nack, David Scott, James Hacker and Dustin Moren.
