Matthew Kirbie, 59, a construction estimator, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Mass of Christian burial was Nov. 12 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Alvares officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Steven Reeves, Adam Darrach, Jessie Horton, Glenn Hornback, Jake Kaz and Jake Warner. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Bell and Bobby Richie.
Matthew was born May 12, 1953, in Fort Worth to Troy and Annabell Elizabeth (Calvert) Kirbie. He married Rhonda Gail Phillips June 15, 1974, in Decatur.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rhonda Kirbie; sons Mark Kirbie and wife, Amber, of Paradise and Merrick Kirbie and wife, Megan, of Falls City; daughter Melissa Renee Minor and husband, David, of Decatur; granddaughters Madison, Maliah, Mikena, Mariah, Maci and Mykah; brothers Michael Kirbie and wife, Deborah, of Decatur, Malcom Kirbie and wife, Kelli, of Chico; sister Marcella Rhine and husband, Dennis, of Decatur; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents; son Miles Kirbie; and brothers Mark and Martin Kirbie.
