Marvin Picha, 69, a retired teacher, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, in Decatur.
Services were held Aug. 31 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Interment was at 2 p.m. Friday at Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Arlington.
Marvin was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Ben Hur to Frank and Theophilia (Locke) Picha. He married Glenda Hodges June 19, 1965 in Haltom City.
Marvin received his bachelors of Science degree from Texas Wesleyan College (now Texas Wesleyan University) in Fort Worth. A former coach and science teacher at Birdville ISD, he retired from Chico ISD in 2004.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Glenda Picha; sons Mike Picha and wife, Holly, and Matt Picha and wife, Lisa, all of Decatur; grandsons Cole and Morgan Picha; sisters Helen Brezina of Sugarland and Mary Ann Bailey of Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Picha; and a sister, Ruby Lee Patterson.
