Memorial service for Marion Lewis Sessumes, 82, of Decatur is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Sycamore Baptist Church with the Rev. Casey Lewis officiating. Burial is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie.

Born May 13, 1930, in Burkburnett to Onie J. and Lorene (Creagle) Smith, he grew up in Munday and Wichita Falls. He married Merle Yoakum Nov. 25, 1948, in Wichita Falls., and they moved to Decatur in 1984.
He retired from commercial construction in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Sessumes served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 during the Korean conflict.
He was preceded in death by sister Mary M. Walker.
Sessumes is survived by his wife of 64 years; sons Marion Lewis Sessumes Jr. of Fort Worth and Mark Sessumes and wife, Kia, of Arlington; grandchildren Jeremy Sessumes, Dalton Sessumes and Alaina Sessumes; sisters Kathleen Kinnibrugh of Burkburnett and Martha Fortune of Oklahoma City; and brothers Norvill Sessumes and wife, Mary Lou, of Fremont, Calif., and Michael Smith and wife, Tonji, of Alvarado.
