Funeral for Linda K. Bower Kelley, 63, of Fort Worth was May 8 at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, burial was at Johnson Station Cemetery in Arlington.
Kelley died Friday, May 4, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Born June 20, 1948, in Fort Worth to Jess and Billie Bower, she graduated from Fort Worth’s Eastern Hills High School in 1966 and attended Tarrant County Junior College. She was also executive director of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce from 1987 to 1992.
She retired from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Department of Family Medicine, where she served as senior administrative associate. Kelley held various other positions within the university and also worked as a legislative aide and campaign manager to former State Rep. Ric Williamson.
Kelley was preceded in death by brother Tommy Bower.
She is survived by son Jay Kelley of Fort Worth; and daughter Kristen Kelton, granddaughter Riley Kelton, and grandson Barrett Kelton, all of Trophy Club, formerly of Decatur.
Survivors also include brother Terry Bower and wife, Barbara, of Stephenville; sister Robyn McMahan and husband, Robin, of Kennedale; sister-in-law Linda Bower of Weatherford; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Greater Forth Worth-Arlington Chapter, in honor of her grandson Barrett Kelton.
