Leslie C. Vaughan

Leslie C. Vaughan, 55, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.

Leslie was born June 22, 1957, in Dallas and was adopted by Frank and Sara Vaughan. She was a registered Veterinary Technician and worked in Southlake until she became too ill to work. Leslie loved horses and was involved in Rodeo Club in high school, and her passion for animals inspired her career.

She enjoyed showing dogs and was also involved in PAWS, an organization that provides therapeutic dogs for nursing home and hospital patients. She especially loved visiting Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital.

Leslie was an avid geneologist and spent a great amount of time tracing her family’s history and took an annual trip to Salt Lake City to visit the Family History Library. She took great pleasure in scrapbooking and cardmaking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sara.

Survivors include a sister, Susie Vaughan; nephew Chris Marks and wife, Nora; niece Sara Richards and husband, Jeremiah; great-nieces Natalie and Abigail; dear friends and caregivers, Norma and Gary Thayer and family; beloved pet T.J. and a host of other dear family and friends.
