Joe Edd Turlington

Funeral for Joe Edd Turlington, 64, of Decatur was July 26 at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with the Rev. Charles Reed officiating. Burial was at Alvord Cemetery.

Turlington died Monday, July 23, 2012, in Fort Worth.

Born Dec. 16, 1947, in Mineola to Wilbur David and Jean (Brown) Turlington, he was a retired carpenter and served in the U.S. Army. He married Vickie Smith in Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by grandson Zachary David Turlington.

Turlington is survived by his wife of 13 years; sons Zack Turlington and wife, Cheryl, of Decatur, Joe Turlington of Bowie and James Miller and wife, Jenifer, of Justin; grandchildren Brittany, Tanner, Brooke, Chloe, Katie and Hannah; brothers James David, Jon, Troy, Willie and Raymond Turlington; sisters Jeanne Greenawalt, Linda Phelps and Patricia Payne; stepmother Grace Turlington; nieces and nephews.
