Graveside service for James Cox, 85, of Bridgeport was May 24 at East Bridgeport Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Potts officiating.

Cox died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in Bridgeport.

Born Dec. 1, 1926 in Lamesa to Margaret (Drennon) and James A. Cox, he was a member of the Bridgeport Riding Club. He fished and played golf.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Cox; two brothers and two sisters.

Cox is survived by sons Al Cox and wife, Brenda, and Cary Cox and wife, Katrina; daughter Patsy Stinnett and husband, Don; brothers Gary Paul Shipley and Pete Cox; grandchildren Curt Anderson, Brian Cox, Tennille Hammonds, Tracie Finstad, Jerald Stinnett, Jimmy Stinnett, Bucky Stinnett and Kelli Stinnett; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
