J.W. Weaver

Funeral for J.W. Weaver, 77, of Chico is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Crafton Baptist Church. Burial is 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Weaver died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Decatur.

Born Dec. 4, 1934, in Decatur to Lizzie and J.A. Weaver, he worked for Vandervoorts Milk Co., and in the grocery business in the butcher department and management. He and his wife, Patricia, owned and operated J&P Grocery in Argyle for 27 years.

Weaver was preceded in death by sisters Marie Swyers, Lorraine Fingal and Ruby Johnson; and brothers Jimmie Weaver, Charlie Weaver and Jimmie Lou Weaver.

He is survived by his wife; son Tim Weaver and wife, Lisa; daughter Vanessa Gassiot and husband, John; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
