Faye Newton

Funeral for Faye Newton, 85, of Decatur was July 12 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Rev. Gary Sessions officiating. Burial was at Lone Star Cemetery.

Newton died Monday, July 9, 2012, in Decatur.

Born Jan. 30, 1927, in Chico to Wyatt and Letha (Lydia) Watson, she was a retired cook. She married Carmie Newton March 2, 1947, in Bridgeport.

Newton was preceded in death by her husband; grandson Donald Keith Pitts; and sisters Jessie Perky and Joyce Hollis.

She is survived by daughters Donna McNally, Margaret Brock, Linda Largent and Dorothy Hartsell and husband, Tim, all of Decatur, and Brenda Lewis and husband, Scott, of Aledo; sons Harold Newton and wife, Linda Gail, of Montague and William Newton of Decatur; 15 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters Cue Ray and husband, Carl, of Enon, Ohio, and Lorenda Hendershot of Lansing, Mich.; and other family members.

Pallbearers were Stoney Scott, Pete Hartsell, Rodney Hollis and Brendan Ford.
