Funeral for Earl C. German, 81, of Runaway Bay was May 4 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Revs. Bill Cleveland and Gary Sessions officiating. Burial followed at East Bridgeport Cemetery.
German died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Runaway Bay.
Born Feb. 13, 1931, in Warrenton, Va., to Elzie and Grace (Kerns) German, he was a retired Mitchell Energy plant manager. He served in the U.S. Navy and married Anna Cokeley Sept. 27, 1948, in San Diego. German also worked as a manager at Mike’s Music and was a member of First Christian Church in Ames, Okla.
He was preceded in death by brothers Raymond German, Kenneth German, Ralph German, Dan German and Billy German; and sisters Evelyn Leydig, Kathleen Baker, Ruth Denny and Elizabeth Robinson.
German is survived by his wife of 63 years; daughters Earlene Shepherd and husband Joe, of Bridgeport and Patricia Smith and husband, Johnie, of Alvord; sons Michael L. German of Bridgeport and Mark German and wife, Bettie, of Chico; grandchildren Paula, Micky, Nicky, David, Jessica, Taylor and Morgan; great-grandchildren Madeline, Lindsey and Olivia; sister Margaret Hall of Enid, Okla.; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Taylor German, Nicky Shepherd, Micky Shepherd, David Smith, Johnie Smith, Joe Shepherd and Whit Klein.
