Doris Ruth Gardner

Memorial service for Doris Ruth Gardner, 71, of Bridgeport is 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Gardner died Friday Aug. 3, 2012, in Bridgeport.

Born March 12, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Willard and Faye (Stewart) Howell, she married Bobby Jack Gardner Jan. 7, 1956, in Gainesville.

Gardner was preceded in death by her husband; son Ricky James Gardner; daughter Kimberly Ann Gardner; grandchildren Johnny and Kenny Suarez; and sisters Sarah Dyson and Darla Howell.

She is survived by daughters Bobbie Ruth Gonzales and husband, Al, of Moultree, Ga., Brenda Jean Howell of Bridgeport and Sandra Nell Hillary and husband, Patrick of Decatur; son Billy Jack Gardner of Plano; grandchildren Wesley, Patrick Jr., Christopher and Michael; five great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ellen Fuller of Terrell, Okla.; and other family members.
