Clara Charlotte Clay

Funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at First Baptist Church of Decatur with the Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial is at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Clara was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Providence, R.I., to Carl H. and Selma C. (Pilblad) Johnson. She married Henry Clay Aug. 15, 1947, in Massachusetts, and they were married for 53 years until his death in August 2000. Clara was also preceded in death by her son, Henry Laurance Clay.

She was librarian at Dallas Baptist College.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Margaret Horan and husband, Michael, and granddaughter Meghan C. Horan, all of Houston; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
