Cheyanne Dollins

Memorial service for Cheyanne Dollins, 14, of Alvord was Aug. 2 at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with Gary Demmitt officiating.

Dollins died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Alvord.

Born April 22, 1998, in Roseburg, Ore., to Joshua Dollins and Buffy (Lesina) Mowry, she would have been a freshman at Alvord High School. She was the Alvord Middle School mascot, ran track and cross country and played basketball and softball. Her softball team recently won the 14-and-under ASA state tournament.

Dollins participated in rodeos and showed goats at numerous 4-H stock shows in Texas and Oklahoma. She attended the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA) National Show in Duncan, Okla., and the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) Nationals in Louisville, Ky., in 2008. She swam, camped and spent time with her friends.

She was preceded in death by grandmother Debbie Lesina.

Dollins is survived by her mother; stepfather Matt Mowry; sister Sydnee Mowry; and brother Kash Monroe, all of Alvord; grandparents Gordon and Dee Lesina of Coburg, Ore., and Dean and Pam Mowry of Keller; great-grandparents Elaine Stodola of Eugene, Ore., and Clyde and Mable Wolford of Keller; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
