Carl Woodruff

Funeral for Carl Woodruff, 78, of Valley View was July 3 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton with James Jackson officiating. Burial followed at Sanger Cemetery.

Woodruff died Friday, June 29, 2012, in Denton.

Born Oct. 12, 1933, in Hildon, Okla., to Hollis and Lucy Boner Woodruff, he married Josephine Peel June 1, 1957, in Fort Worth. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Weber Aircraft in Gainesville in 1992. He and his wife traveled 27 states in a year in their motorhome. Woodruff had a farm in Slidell and traveled.

He was preceded in death by sister Helen Drath and brother Jack Woodruff.

Woodruff is survived by his wife; daughters Carla Creamier and husband, Allan of San Antonio and Misty Dawn Woodruff of Valley View; sons Mike Woodruff and wife, Sissie, of Valley View, Mark Woodruff and wife, Judy, of Greenwood and Gary Woodruff of Valley View; sister Wanda Hill of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jack Woodruff, Wade McClusky, Brent Milligan, Neal Hale, Harrison Crew and Jack Cutsworth.
