Officials expect to identify victim in train accident Monday

Law enforcement officials have tentatively identified the female struck and killed by a train north of Alvord early Sunday morning.
Wise County Sheriff David Walker said investigators will meet with the officials from the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s to positively identify the victim Monday morning. Walker said they believe it is a juvenile female from the Alvord area.
The girl was struck and killed by a train at the crossing at County Road 2898 two miles north of Alvord around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Clay Poynor at 4:10 a.m.
Wise County Sheriff Department Captain Kevin Benton said personnel on the train saw the woman on the track before she was struck.
Walker said the accident remains under investigation.
It is the third person to be struck and killed by a train in the Alvord area in the past year. Earlier this month, Marcus Silletti, 14, of Alvord was struck from behind while walking on the tracks near the intersection of Elm and O’Neil streets. On July 30, 2011, Frances Cleburn, 57, of North Richland Hills walked in front of a train near the intersection where Silletti was killed.

Call me crazy but it might be time to figure out what to do about this situation?

That’s awful my heart goes out to those people’s friends and family.

  2. I just hope the rumors of bullying I am hearing are not true. If so, I hope everyone involved can sleep at night. This is just terrible and such a waste of a young life! ! !
