A commercial building in the 1100 block of Halsell Ave. in Bridgeport was gutted by fire early Wednesday morning. The building, which most recently housed Zoo Lou’s Tanning Spa and Select Gift Shop, appeared to be a total loss. The building next door, Trinity Chiropractic, also apparently sustained some damage as well. At least eight fire departments responded to the blaze, which was reported around 1:15 a.m. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
