A contract worker was killed in an accident in a work zone on U.S. 380 in the construction zone about eight miles east of Decatur around 2 p.m. Thursday. Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Terri Johnson pronounced Jeffery Stackhouse, 43, of Azle dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, but Johnson said Stackhouse died from a blunt force injury. His body has been sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
