Thick fog blanketed Wise County this morning and played a role in a wreck south of Boyd at approximately 9 a.m. A small sport utility vehicle eastbound on Farm Road 2048 ran through the stop sign at Farm Road 730. State trooper Bobby Dean said the car then crashed through a fence and flipped front-to-back. It wound up upside down about 50 yards off the road in the weeds and brush.

The occupants, Caroyln Elledge, 52, and Helen Allgood, 61, both of Fort Worth, suffered minor injuries in the crash. Allgood was transported to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur for a gash she suffered to her head. Dean said visibility was limited to only 150 yards in the fog.
