Wren to hear cases next week

County Court-at-Law No. 2 Judge Stephen Wren will begin hearing cases Monday, Oct. 3, in the courthouse’s third-floor courtroom. Although the newly created court will be held at this location through October, it will rotate between the courthouse in Decatur and the justice of the peace courtrooms in Precincts 2 and 4 as necessary. Commissioners approved the use of the JP courtrooms at their regular meeting Monday. Wren’s office will be at the Bridgeport annex, site of the JP 4 courtroom. He will be sworn in at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, by Judge John Fostel, in the district courtroom in Decatur.
