Lady Eagles snag second in Irving

Even without two of their top swimmers, Hayley Raasch and Haley Dennard, the Decatur Lady Eagles were able to take second Saturday at the Irving Sprint Invite.

Decatur finished with 260.5 points. Lewisville won the meet with 500.5.

The Lady Eagles won the 100-yard freestyle relay in 58.92. They took second in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:10.2.

In her second high school meet, freshman Katey Rowden won the 50 freestyle in 29.76. She finished second in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:18.8.

Kate Grant took second in the 200 freestyle in 2:39.94. She finished seventh in the 50 butterfly in 38.85.

Audrey McCreary brought home third in the 50 backstroke in 39.27. She was third in the 100 freestyle in 1:08.22.

Guirnalda Lopez took fourth in the 25 freestyle in 15.36. She was 15th in the 50 freestyle in 34.47.

Bailey Phariss finished sixth in the 50 breaststroke, swimming 46.65, and 18th in the 50 butterfly in 48.29.

Emily Howdeshell was eighth in the 200 freestyle in 2:53.65, and took the same place in the 100 freestyle in 1:17.93.

With only three swimmers in action, the Decatur boys finished 13th with 42 points.

Dosson Lewthwaite took third in the 50 backstroke, swimming 36.04. He was ninth in the 100 individual medley in 1:23.05.

Logan Huff finished eighth in the 50 freestyle in 29.77, and 10th in the 100 freestyle in 1:08.5.

Trey Dale was 34th in the 50 freestyle in 39.66, and 31st in the 25 freestyle in 21.3.
