Holson takes second, third

SPLASHING TO THE TOP - Quest Aquatics swimmers Lizey Rowden, Caycee Holson and Katey Rowden under coach Nancy Wendell placed at the Bill Nixon meet June 17-19 in Rockwall.

Quest Aquatics’ swimmer Caycee Holson took second place in the 50-meter backstroke at the Bill Nixon Invitational A meet in Rockwall.

The 10-year-old Holson swam 37.35 to earn the runner-up spot. It was one of four events she placed in at the meet held June 17-19.

Holson finished third in the 50 freestyle in 34.08. In the 100 backstroke, she took sixth in 1:16.82. She was eighth in the 100 butterfly in 1:35.21.

Holson is qualified for the Texas Age Group Swimming championships at the University of Texas in Austin July 20-24 in the 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke.

Lizey Rowden, 10, finished eighth in the 200 freestyle in 3:02.25.

Katey Rowden, 13, was 13th in the consolation heat of the 50 freestyle, swimming 29.98.
