Decatur swimmers win 10 events at meet

In its final meet before the Christmas break, the Decatur swim team won 10 events at the Fort Worth ISD Double Dual meet Dec. 16 at Wilkerson Greines.

Decatur finished second with 60 points in the girls meet. The Decatur boys took second with 53.

Hayley Raasch won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:33.77. She also won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:09.37.

Haley Dennard took first in the 50-yard freestyle in a personal-best 27.46. She won the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.49.

Casie Morgan was second to Dennard in the event in 1:08.61. Morgan won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:38.52.

Guirnalda Lopez finished second in the 200 in 2:49.03. She took third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:41.13.

Bailey Phariss was fourth in the 200-yard individual medley in 3:25.78 and took the same place in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:44.54.

Haley Harris swam a 35.13 for third in the 50-yard freestyle.

Andie Keller finished third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:25.75.

The Decatur quartet of Morgan, Raasch, Lopez and Dennard won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:29.56.

Lopez, Phariss, Keller and Harris teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:13.1. Morgan, Raasch, Phariss and Dennard were second in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:18.88.

The Decatur boys won a pair of individual events. Dosson Lewthwaite won the 200-yard individual medley in a personal-best 2:34.25. He was third in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:16.29.

David Talley took first in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming 56.83. He was second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.26.

Daniel Smyers finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:06.27. Smyers took second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:20.42.

Arin Blaylock swam 1:25.75 for second in the 100-yard backstroke.

Ethan Stallard finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.99 and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in 3:02.21.

Robert Sellers took fifth in the 500-yard freestyle in 8:14.59.

The squad of Lewthwaite, Blaylock, Smyers and Talley won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:46.13. The same quartet was second in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:02.8.
