Funeral for Soretha Gillespie Wilson, 57, of Boyd was Tuesday, July 26, at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with Terry Phillips officiating. Burial followed at Boyd Cemetery.

Wilson died Saturday, July 23, 2011, in Denton.

Born Oct. 7, 1953, in Decatur to Herald and Tommie (Swinney) Gillespie, she graduated from Boyd High School in 1972. She married Donald Gene “Shooter” Wilson July 1, 1988, in Boyd and was a real estate agent at Herald Gillespie Real Estate. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd.

Wilson is survived by her husband; sons William Shelby Jr. and wife, Jackie, of Decatur and Brad Wilson and wife, Judi, of Roanoke; daughter Brandy Hagelstein and husband, John, of Bakersfield, Calif.; grandchildren Jerrett, Noah, Payten, Brody, Nathan and Wiley; parents of Boyd; brothers Herald W. Gillespie and wife, Linda, of Boyd and Marshall D. Gillespie and wife, Marietta, of Highland, Utah; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Forest Cartwright, Trevor Gillespie, Bryan Gillespie, Brad Wilson, Jason Rogers, and Michael Dickens. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Stephens and Sonny Raley.
