Davey Edwards sworn in as president of surveyor organization

William “Davey” Edwards was sworn in as president of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) in early October at the organization’s annual convention in Frisco.

Since 1995, Edwards has partnered with his father, Tommy Edwards, at Edwards Surveying in Decatur. He is a registered professional land surveyor in Texas and Oklahoma, a licensed state land surveyor, a certified federal surveyor and a certified geographic information system professional. His expertise is large and specialized boundary issues.

He has served many leadership positions in TSPS, including president-elect from 2010 to 2011 and president from 2006 to 2008. Edwards has also won multiple surveying awards.

TSPS is made up of 1,800 surveyors. The group’s goal is to furthur the education of its members and the general public in attaining high surveying standards.
