As you mark your calendars for the many activities taking place this spring, I encourage you to attend the Wise County Health Fair Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Decatur Civic Center.
The fair is sponsored by United Way and is promoting a healthier Wise County through community awareness and education.
A feature will be school immunizations offered for $14-$22.
There are many free opportunities as well, including several health screenings and checks: dental; blood pressure; vision; hearing; blood glucose; and cholesterol.
Several popular activities are returning such as TXDOT/Highway Patrol roll cage, Texas LifeStar helicopter, fingerprint identification kits and facepainting.
The Better Living for Texans program will exhibit information concerning MyPyramid.
Participants may take part in plant pals offered by Wise County 4-H and venomous snake identification. The Carter Blood Care unit returns.
New this year is the Moncrief Cancer Center mammography mobile unit and a Family Fun Run/Walk.
Entry forms for booths/displays and activities space are available from Health Fair Chairman, Toni Schmalzried. Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org or (940) 210-1151.
