Most of you are busy with last-minute preparations for the Wise County Youth Fair. Wise County 4-H does possess scales to weigh cattle, sheep, goats and hogs, and if your family needs access to them, contact the Extension office at (940) 627-3341.
I have set March 22-24 aside to assist 4-Hers in getting animals clipped. Be sure to call our office to set up a time. Animals should be clean prior to arrival. Heifers must have been washed and dried.
If you have questions about preparing your animals for show, contact your 4-H leaders or the Extension office. Complete rules for the youth fair can be found at www.wcyouthfair.org. Be sure to check out the ones that pertain to your department.
As 4-Hers say goodbye to this year’s projects, now is the time to order validation tags for 2011 State Fair of Texas sheep, goats and 2011 major-show steers. If you plan to show one of the above, contact the Extension office by April 8 to place your order.
Tags will cost $10 each. Checks can be made to 4-H Livestock Fund.
Entries for District 4-H Roundup are due in our office on April 12. Contact the Extension office at (940) 627-3341 or by e-mail at email@example.com for a list of categories.
