The State 4-H Horse Show was held in Abilene July 24-29, and there were several 4-Hers from Wise County who represented our local program.

Shelby Haggart received reserve champion in the stock horse trail out of 104 kids at the state show. She is a member of the Bridgeport 4-H Club, 4-H Horse Project, Texas Stock Horse Association, ASHA, AQHA and NRHA and is currently holding the second-place position among youth in the state in the Stock Horse Association with her horse, Cattieotary.

Stock Horse is for all ages and experience levels with shows being held each month in different locations in Texas. There are four categories: trail, reining, stock horse western pleasure and working cow horse.

Monika Qualls received third place in the working hunter class and sixth place in the equitation over fences class. In the open jumping class, Monika and her horse, Sunny, received fourth and in the hunter hack class 11th.

Excellent job, Wise County 4-Hers!
