Eight Wise County 4-H youth participated in the District Nutritional Quiz Bowl Contest held Nov. 17 in Quanah. Contestants from the Food and Nutrition project are quizzed over nutritional content, kitchen safety, food nutrition labels and My Plate.
The senior team consisting of Logan Moore, Jodie Wells, Christian Cross and Anne Marie Wells tied for fifth place.
The junior team consisting of Fallon Sachse, Thaine Laaser, Charity Joy and Joy Wells took the first-place title for their division. Great job to all of the Wise County 4-H participants!
District Leaders for Life Contest Results
On Nov. 30 in Chico, 10 Wise County 4-H members competed in the Leaders for Life contest that included a Quiz Bowl, Community Service Interpretation, Parliamentary Procedure Demonstration and a question and answer session. Participants study Robert’s Rules of Order, Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens” and various Texas 4-H publications to prepare for the contest.
The junior team included Michaela Martin, Kooper Martin, Jesse Outlaw and Will Tackett. The intermediate team included Dalton Outlaw, Rosie Stephens, Ethan Jeffreys and Thomas Stuteville. Both teams placed first and are excited to work on their skills for next year’s competition.
The senior team that included Bailey Morris, Logan Moore, Christian Cross, Jodie Wells and Kendall Vawter took first place. They are looking forward to competing again at the State Roundup in June! Excellent work 4-Hers!
