TWO CAR WRECK – A driver fell asleep behind the wheel and injured two yesterday afternoon. County medics and the Decatur Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident north of Decatur on FM 51 at about 1:45 p.m. Ronald R. Milhoan, 52, of Decatur was southbound in his passenger car and turning left onto CR 2320 when he was struck from behind by Conna W. Sullivan, 53, of Decatur, who was driving a blue Volkswagen beetle. Sullivan told officers she dozed off. Both vehicles wound up crumpled in the ditch on opposite sides of the highway. Sullivan refused medical treatment after rolling and spinning her vehicle. Milhoan and his son, Matthew Steel, 26, were transported to Wise Regional Health System for minor injuries.

CLINIC – Professional trainer Zach Ellis will conduct a free colt-starting clinic 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Gordon Maatsch Arena in Boyd. Refreshments will be served. Call the Extension office for information at (940) 627-3341.

MEETINGS – Decatur ISD is accepting nominations for the EAGLE/ Gifted and Talented Program through April 20. Parents wishing to nominate their child in grades 1-4 should attend one of the following information meetings: 6 tonight at the Carson Elementary cafeteria; 8 a.m., Thursday at the Carson Elementary Computer Lab; and 8 a.m. Friday at the Rann Elementary Library.

GO BLUE – CASA and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services encourages wearing blue in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month Wednesday.

LUNCH AND PROGRAM – First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport will have a luncheon at noon Sunday, April 11, in the fellowship hall. Maria Brocato, from the United Methodist Communications in Nashville, will speak on the need to eradicate malaria.

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION CLASSES – Two American Red Cross certification classes will be held at Fit-N-Wise. Session 2 is April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18. Session 3 is April 23, 24, 25, 30, May 1 and 2. GRAVESIDE service for Jimmy Lee, 68, of Decatur is 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove No. 3. Family visitation is 6-8 Wednesday night at Coker-Hawkins.

FUNERAL for Myrtle Hamilton, 90, of North Richland Hills is 10 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
