Three area cowboys will be applying their craft at the College National Finals Rodeo June 13-19 in Casper, Wyo.

Chris Demases from Boyd and George Rowland and C.J. Kerr, both from Paradise, have all qualified for the rodeo.

Demases and Rowland just finished their junior year at Weatherford College. Both qualified in tie-down roping. Damases qualified for the first time, and it is Rowland’s second entry.

Kerr just finished his freshman year at Texas Tech University in Lubbock and qualified in steer wrestling.

The cowboys will be competing for nearly $250,000 in scholarships.

Each contestant has three preliminary rounds of competition prior to the final round on June 19. The top 12 contestants after those rounds will make the finals.
