Sports Briefs for June 20

CARTER PLANS CAMP – Decatur baseball coach Chris Carter will hold a baseball camp for players between grades three and seven June 21-24 at Eagle Field. The camp will run each day from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Forms can be printed from the Decatur High School baseball website. They can also be picked up at Rann and Carson elementary schools. Carter will also hold a pitching camp 1:30 p.m. June 21-24.

BROWN TO HOLD CAMP – Decatur boys basketball coach Roger Brown will hold a basketball camp for players between grades one and nine July 5-8 at Decatur High School. The camp will cover fundamentals of the game, including shooting, passing and dribbling. A session for players between grades one and three will be from 9 to 11 a.m. A second session for players in grades four through nine will follow from noon to 4 p.m. For information, call Brown at (940) 393-7229.

GARNER SCHEDULES CAMP – Decatur girls basketball coach Billy Garner will hold a basketball camp July 12-15 at Decatur High School for girls in grades two through nine. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon. For information, call (940) 393-7230.

FOOTBALL CAMP – The Decatur Eagle Football Camp for grades seven through nine will be June 28. It will be held at the high school practice field.

ADULT SOCCER LEAGUE TO KICK OFF – The Wise County Adult Soccer Association is planning a Co-Ed soccer league for the summer. Play begins July 10. For information, call Lori at (817) 308-6892.

SOCIAL RUN – A 3-mile social run for runners at all levels will be held each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Wise County Messenger parking lot on Pecan Street. Water is provided. For information, send e-mail to rgreene@wcmessenger.com.
