Meeting was a cover-up

By | Published Sunday, June 6, 2010

I see I made it into the newspaper again. However, this time I was clueless as to why a meeting had to be called for my document request.

It took only a couple of minutes to state to me that the documents would be ready by next Wednesday and that was that. A simple telephone call could have told me that.

I do feel it was actually a cover-up to announce the possible elimination of the court clerk’s position. Our court clerk has been extensively involved with the improvements to the system for taking legal recourse for warrants and fines in the city of Newark for several years. Odd that that history is now being considered non-essential. And obviously, it had been prepared ahead of time to bring it to the public.

I believe it has more to do with her alerting the purchaser of the community Center to the presence of asbestos, which was deliberately left out of the sale information, than to any other budget need.

As for myself, I have prepared a spot for the documents and am looking forward to the reading of some.
