A home was severely damaged in a Tuesday morning fire that also damaged three outbuildings and ignited a small grass fire.

Six departments – Boyd, Paradise, Rhome, Cottondale, Newark and Springtown – responded to the fire at 11:15 a.m. in the 300 block of County Road 4593 west of Boyd. Boyd Fire Chief Vince Estel said that no one was at the home when the departments arrived on scene.

The fire spread around the double-wide mobile home, burning grass in the front and back yards and spreading to brush behind the home. Buildings in the backyard were also in the path of the fire.

Estel said he didn’t know if the home was occupied but that there was furniture inside the home. A park bench and small grill sat undisturbed on the porch as firefighters walked in and out the front door.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
