Academy students receive conference awards

Immanuel Baptist Christian Academy students received awards at the Texas Baptist Athletic Conference Awards ceremony in May in Fort Worth.

TBAC is a league of 10 Christian schools in North Texas. Points are accumulated by the students placing first through sixth in various athletic and scholastic competitions. The top 10 boys and girls in the league were awarded medals for earning points in four age divisions – grade school I, ages 5-8; grade school II, ages 9-11; middle school, ages 12-14; and high school, ages 15-18.

Athletic competitions included tennis, bowling, miniature golf, basketball, golf, table tennis, volleyball, cross country and track. Immanuel students receiving athletic awards were –

  • Grade school I – Johnathan Dickerson, Noah Flores, Julie Brown, Kylie Luman and Aubrie Summers
  • Grade school II – Johnathan Brown, Logan Draper and Meagan Casey
  • Middle school – Ashlin Dickerson
  • High school – Aaron Haddad, David Leon, Rachel Brooks, Autumn Dickerson and Rebecca Flores.

Scholastic competitions included the Christian Skills Meet, the Music Festival and the Science, Skills and Scholastic Meet. Immanuel students receiving scholastic awards were:

  • Grade school I – Johnathan Dickerson, Noah Flores, Julia Brown and Aubrie Summers
  • Grade school II – Johnathan Brown, Logan Draper and Meagan Casey
  • Middle school – Ashlin Dickerson and Monica Flores
  • High school – Aaron Haddad, David Leon, Rachel Brooks, Autumn Dickerson and Rebecca Flores

Students who earned the most points in their division were:

  • High School Boy Scholar – Aaron Haddad
  • Grade School I Girl Athlete – Aubrie Summers
  • Grade School I Boy Athlete – Johnathan Dickerson
  • Grade School II Girl Athlete – Meagan Casey
  • Grade School II Boy Athlete -Johnathan Brown
