Academy holds awards ceremony

Immanuel Baptist Christian Academy held it’s 24th awards ceremony in May at Immanuel Baptist Church in Decatur.

Kylie Luman was the school’s kindergarten graduate.

The academy’s top award, the I Timothy 4:12 award given for exemplary Christian character, went to Aaron Haddad.

Merit certificates were given to Johnathan Brown, Julia Brown, Ashlin Dickerson, Johnathan Dickerson, Logan Draper, Noah Flores and Aubrie Summers. The certificates were given for scoring 100s on at least 33 percent of their tests during the year.

Johnathan Brown, Julie Brown, Ashlin Dickerson, Johnathan Dickerson, Logan Draper, Noah Flores and Aubrie Summers earned pastor’s honor roll certificates for having an overall grade point average of 95 to 100.

Meagan Casey, Autumn Dickerson, Monica Flores, Aaron Haddad and David Leon earned principal’s honor roll certificates for grade point averages between 90 and 94.

Students completing the most PACEs, combined textbook and workbooks, were – Jonathan Dickerson, first place; Noah Flores, second place; and Aubrie Summers, third place. These students and Aaron Haddad and Logan Draper earned certificates for completing more than 100 PACEs.

Jonathan Dickerson was recognized for having the highest grade point average in first through sixth grades, with Noah Flores in second and Aubrie Summers in third.

Ashlin Dickerson was recognized for having the highest grade point average in seventh through 12th grade, with Meagan Casey in second and Monica Flores in third.

Top Scholar awards went to Aaron Haddad, first; Autumn Dickerson, second; Meagan Casey, third place.

Top athletic awards went to Ashlin Dickerson, first; Autumn Dickerson, second; and Aubrie Summers and Johnathan Dickerson, third.

Rebecca Flores received the sportsmanship trophy.

The citizenship trophy went to Rachel Brooks.
