Baker_Peggy.jpgFuneral for Peggy Joyce Livengood Baker, 85, of Decatur is 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel with Roy Deaver officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Baker died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, in Decatur.

Born Nov. 15, 1924, in Cottondale to John and Liola (Coffman) Livengood, she married Joe Baker Jr. June 19, 1970, in Granbury. She was a longtime nutritionist and director at Golden Years Haven. She was a Rhome City Council member and a member of the Rhome Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Zollie Livengood; sister, Thelma Young; and son, Stephen McCurdy.

She is survived by her son, Blake McCurdy and wife, Chris, of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Jackee DeLay and husband, Charles, of Shell Knob, Md.; brother, John Livengood and wife, Joanne, of Decatur; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Blake McCurdy, Joe Walter Baker, Biff Joslin, James Baker, Richard White and Vearl Wolverton.
