FOCUS ON 4-H

Preparing for the youth fair

By | Published Thursday, March 18, 2010

Local 4-H members should be busy with last-minute preparations as the Wise County Youth Fair approaches.

Some of you may need to weigh your animals or need help getting your animals clipped prior to the beginning of the Youth Fair, March 22. Wise County 4-H has scales that may be checked out for cattle, sheep, goats and hogs.

Three days, March 17-19, have also been set aside during spring break to clip animals. Volunteer Mike Henry will help slick sheep and goats. All animals should be clean on arrival, and heifers must be washed and dried.

Call the Extension office at (940) 627-3341 to check out the scales or make an appointment for help clipping your animal.

Complete rules for the Wise County Youth Fair can be found online at www.wcyouthfair.org.
